Midway through week two of the women’s basketball season, Sacred Heart (2-1) is the only Northeast Conference team with a win.
FDU stayed true to that trend Monday, falling 49-44 at nonconference Bucknell. The Knights visit Georgetown (2-1) Friday for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
Bucknell held off the Knights for its first win, hitting 6-for-6 free throws in the final 32 seconds.
Abby Conklin, the 5-7 senior guard from Irvington, N.Y., led FDU with 14 points while 6-2 sophomore forward Lilly Parke added 9 and pulled down 10 rebounds. Teneisia Brown, a 6-2 forward/center, added 8 points.
Parke, averaging 11.7 points a game is seventh in the league in scoring, followed by Brown with 11.3. Conklin is averaging 10 a game and Abaigeal Babore, a 5-6 senior guard, is 7th in rebounding and leads FDU grabbing 6.3 a game with Parke adding another six a game.
