Women Fall at Army

Senior 6-2 forward Teneisia Brown scored 16 points Sunday as FDU fell at Army in a non-conference game.

Brown was recognized as a Northeast Conference “Prime Performer” for the first week of the NCAA women’s basketball season. The 0-2 Knights return to action Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at non-conference Bucknell (0-2) in Lewisburg, Penn.


Brown averaged 13.0 points on 52.2 percent shooting from the field (12-of-23) averaging 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per contest in her FDU debut last week. The senior forward/center who transferred to FDU after two seasons at NEC rival Merrimack added 10 points in the Knights’ loss to NCAA Tournament runner-up Iowa on Monday before scoring 16 on 8-of-11 shooting at Army Sunday.

Abby Conklin added 16 points and Lilly Park scored 15 for FDU, seeking its first win for new head coach Stephanie Gaitley at 1-2 Army.

Army broke a 32-32 deadlock at halftime with 25 points in the third quarter and then hit their free throws in the fourth frame to hold off the Knights.
