Co-Editors Named at The Equinox

2023 Equinox Co-Editors

Mia Elias and Lonnie Lewis Jr. will serve as co-editors and lead the independent student-led news service The Equinox for 2023.

Elias of Haworth and Englewood, N.J., is a senior majoring in psychology with a focus in child psychology. When she is not at home crocheting with Sampson, her Corgi, she can be found at The Equinox or teaching preschoolers.

Lewis, from Wyandanch, N.Y., is a junior in psychology and comes to FDU after serving 13 years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After returning to the U.S., he counseled adoptees and teens before deciding to enroll at FDU.

Elias will oversee social media and our new podcast initiative, joining Lewis in a weekly podcast, Earthlings, which will launch Monday on SoundCloud!

Lewis will oversee news operations and serve as a mentor as The Equinox adds an information entrepreneurship incubator.

Students with ideas for digital start-ups can apply to join the newsroom as student content partners. Got a business idea percolating with your friends that needs attention? Let us know about it!

You can help create news content for The Equinox in return for support of your small business start-up idea.

The incubator is part of the Edot initiative, which seeks to give students experience in producing leading-edge digital journalism to serve the Fairleigh Dickinson Metro campus community.
