After getting off to a quick 2-0-1 start to the season, the Knights have encountered some adversity as they suffered their third loss in a row at the hands of Wake Forest by a score of 2-3.

The matchup was back and forth as FDU was able to respond swiftly to each goal Wake Forest scored. After Roald Mitchell got the Demon Deacons on the board early in the first period (16:36) The Knights countered with a goal shortly after at the 22:37 mark. Joshua Ferriera would be on the scoring end of the play for a change as he supplied his first goal of the season to go along with his three assists for the year.

Roald Mitchell would then go for his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute which was again quickly answered by FDU as Hugo Bacharach got in on the action with his second goal of the season.

Unfortunately, Wake Forest would deal the final blow in the 74th minute with a score from Cooper Flax that the Knights were unable to respond to this time around, giving Wake Forest the win.

WFU was determined to be aggressive and the stat sheet is every indication of this as they attempted 18 shots to FDU’s seven.

Despite losing the contest and being unable to break out of the losing streak, there are still positives for the Knights to take away. Simply being able to hang around and compete with a squad like Wake Forest that has gotten off to an undefeated 6-0 start to their season is a victory in itself. The two goals scored in the game by Ferreira and Bacharach are also the most allowed by WFU this season.

Now FDU will have to shift their focus to Sep. 18 where they will look to put an end to their slump against 2-1-1 Penn.
