FDU was handed their first loss of the season on Sunday, Sep. 4 as they fell 1-2 to UMBC.

UMBC was able to take control in the first period of the contest as they delivered two unanswered goals to the Knights. Hugo Bacharach would bring FDU within one goal with a score off the assist for Tony Gomez.

The game would then get a little chippy as UMBC picked up two yellow cards in the final nine minutes of the game. Unfortunately FDU was unable to use it to their advantage with the game ending on a missed shot from Bacharach.

As mentioned the game was very physical with both teams combining for 17 fouls. On the positive side Spencer King came up with five saves which was a season high through three games.

The Knights will now look ahead to a matchup at home with Seton Hall on Friday, Sep. 9 at 7 p.m.
