The Knights scored a solid 1-0 road victory over Lafayette on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Junior Forward Tony Gomez supplied the only goal for the Knights in the game. Gomez’s first goal of the season and fourth career goal overall with FDU came at the 33rd minute of the contest off an assist from Kevin Ruiz and Joshua Ferreira.
The Knights would focus on defense for the remainder of the game, attempting no shots in the second period. They came up with four team saves, making life difficult for the opposing squad as Lafayette failed to muster up any points despite taking ten shots.
The Knights will now look forward to a potential second victory in their next contest, when they take on Army in the regular season home opener on Monday, Aug. 29.
