FDU Men’s Basketball has parted ways with head coach Greg Herenda after nine seasons with the program.

CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein had the first report of the firing, claiming that the departure was mutual.

However, Fox Sports College Broadcaster John Fanta also reported that the firing of Herenda was one that was spurred on by a “behind-the-scenes matter.”

Regardless, the move comes as a bit of a shock. Herenda still had two years remaining on his contract extension after leading the Knights to their first NCAA Tournament game win in program history in 2019. FDU will now begin the process of seeking out his replacement.
