FDU women’s golf had an impressive showing in the NEC Championship tournament as they placed second out of eight participating teams in the contest.
Through three rounds of play, FDU scored a 938 overall which was a +74 for the course. They would gradually improve their score as the rounds went on, putting up a 325 in the first round, a 307 in the second round and their best total in the third and final round at 306.
Victoria Schroedl would be the biggest story of the day as she beat out 42 other contestants to win first place honors at the championship game. Schroedl put up a 223 through three rounds, scoring a 76 in the first round, a 73 in the second round and a 74 in the third and final round.
Other notable performances included Caterina Tatti who came in 12th place with a 235, Anete Adul who placed 17th with a 240, Apichaya Chirakunakorn who came in 18th with a 241 and finally Nicola Smith who finished 26th with a 246.
FDU will be looking out for Schroedl’s regional placement in the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships which will be decided on April 27 at 4 p.m.
