RECAP: Women’s Tennis Closes Regular Season with Five Consecutive Wins

The women’s tennis team came away victorious against the LIU Sharks 4-3 on Friday, April 8 to extend their win streak to five straight to close out the season.

Juniors Amina Lasheen and Shreya Gulia would come away with the Knights’ only victory in doubles play as they defeated Kathleen Jones and Isabelle Boulais, 7-5.

FDU later dominated singles play as they took four of the six matchups against LIU opponents. Lasheen had the most impressive performance, sweeping Erechtchenko 6-2, 7-5.

The Knights impressively finished their regular season with a winning 7-6 record despite things looking down when they started the season out, 2-6.

The squad could use the same resilience and grit that they showcased in the regular season as they gear up for the postseason.

Up next, women’s tennis will prepare for competition in the NEC tournament from April 13-16.
