University Provost Michael Alvatroni has announced a new initiative that recognizes faculty and staff for going above and beyond to transform the campus.
This announcement was emailed to the FDU community on Monday afternoon.
Any member of the FDU community is eligible to nominate a staff or faculty member for a Transformational Excellence award. There are three areas of excellence a nominee can be recognized for.
- “Student Success and Retention” is an area for faculty and staff who demonstrate extraordinary effort in student success and retention inside and outside the classroom. This can be providing students with mentoring, academic support, personal challenge support and more.
- “Service and Engagement” recognizes faculty and staff who provide extraordinary service in interactive activities and projects that promote campus vibrancy, participation and student involvement. Nominees can include any member of an FDU team whose social efforts enhance campus life and the University.
- “Creating a Community of Belonging” acknowledges faculty and staff who go above and beyond in creating a community where students feel a sense of care, inclusion and belonging. For an FDU team member that offers students that sense of welcoming, safety and emotional wellness.
“I am excited at the opportunity to continue promoting ways to tell our story as an institution, as I know firsthand the impact that the FDU community has on transforming the lives of students. I am hopeful that this is one small way to tell the outside world about this impact and to show why our community is so special,” said Alvatroni, via email to the FDU community.
The Transformational Excellence awards strive to recognize deserving faculty and staff and tell more stories of the community.
