Knights’ Top Finishes at Rider 5-Way

The Knights’ track and field teams competed in their second outdoor meet for the spring season despite the rainy weather at the Michael P. Brady Track and concluded the event with several top finishes.

For the men’s team, sophomore Salif Mane earned first place in the long jump competition with a 7.61m mark that broke his personal record for the second meet in a row. Sophomore Dominykas Cepys emerged victorious in the shot put competition with a 15.21 mark and junior Tahj Mullings won first place in the discus competition with a 45.92m mark. 

Other notable performances from the men’s team include senior Roman Mioduszewski’s fourth place finish in the shot put competition with a 13.05m mark. Graduate Sean Mefford and senior Taeco O’Garro secured their third and fourth place finishes in the long jump competition with a 7.03m mark. Cepys finished the discus competition in second place with a 40.10m mark.

From the women’s team, junior Shantelle Riley made a new personal record after finishing the 400m dash in first place with a time of 57.61. Senior Lisa Warfvinge finished the triple jump competition in first place with a mark of 12.20m and beat her personal best from the last meet, which was 12.15m. 

Other performances from the women’s team include graduate student Jazmyn Lewis’ third place finish in the 800m dash with a time of 2:24.64. Sophomore Chloe Lucas finished the dash in fifth place with a time of 2:28.75. Sophomore Akayla Morris also placed third in the long jump competition with a 5.23m mark.

The next meet for the Knights will be the Sam Howell Invitational at Weaver Stadium on April 2 in Princeton, NJ.
