The women’s tennis team faced a gloomy Wednesday afternoon after suffering a loss from Temple University at the Cherry Hill Racquet Club.

During doubles, Alena Kubanova and Namie Isago lost their match at the No. 2 spot. Aleksandra Vorozheikina and Marta Bettinelli faced defeat at the No. 1 spot. Shreya Gulia and Amina Lasheen competed at the No. 3 spot before the match ended in a tie.

In singles, Kubanova and Isago both faced defeat in two consecutive sets at the No. 2 and No. 6 spot respectively. While Gulia was the only Knight to win a set at the No. 1 spot, the match was called and the three remaining matches were left unfinished.

The Temple Owls secured their victory by obtaining the doubles points and winning three singles matches.

Despite the current three-loss streak, there is still optimism for the Knights to make a comeback as they face St. Francis Brooklyn on Tuesday March 22 at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
