Recap: Notable Weekend at Indoor Championships

The track and field teams made several notable performances and broke several records at the ICA4/ECAC Indoor Championships at Boston University Track and Tennis Center this past weekend.

For the ICA4 Indoor Championships, the men’s team made several personal bests throughout the competition.

Ben Clay III concluded the shot put competition in third place with a 16.48m mark.

Conroy Ellis made a personal record as he finished the 500m dash in fourth place with a 1:02.81 time.

Shevan Parks concluded the 800m preliminary race with a personal best time of 1:51.14.

For the ECAC Indoor Championships, the women’s team broke several records during the competition.

Shantelle Riley obtained a gold medal for the 200m dash with her time of 23.97. Riley also created a new school record and even surpassed her personal best from the NEC Indoor Championships.

Jazmyn Lewis broke another school record through her third-place finish for the 500m dash preliminaries with a time of 1:13.84. Lewis once again broke the school record after her fifth place finish in the 500m dash finals with a time of 1:13.66.

The 4×400 relay team which consisted of Riley, Chloe Lucas, Lewis, and Daniella Griffith surpassed the school record with a time of 3:46.93. The team even ran six seconds faster than any other meet throughout the season.

After a weekend full of notable accomplishments, the Knights will prepare to travel to Birmingham, Alabama for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 11-12 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
