Alix Christie, graduate middle blocker for the FDU Knights women’s volleyball, was awarded NEC defensive player of the week honors.
Over the weekend the Knights’ middle blocker tallied 13 total blocks in games against Central Connecticut and Sacred Heart, giving her an average of 1.63 blocks per set. Christie’s eight blocks recorded against Sacred Heart was also a career-high for her.
Christie has been one of the major brightspots for the Knights in an otherwise rough season as she currently leads the squad in blocks on the season with 78.
The Knights and their defensive player of the week will look to end their season off on a high note this weekend when they head to New York to take on St. Francis Brooklyn on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. and then LIU in the Steinberg Wellness Center on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m.
