FDU Women’s Soccer Defeated by CCSU in NEC Tournament Final

The Knights (10-6-4, 6-2-2 NEC) lost against the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils (13-5-0, 8-2-0 NEC) in double overtime on Friday, Nov. 7 in New Britain, Connecticut.

Junior midfielder Naemi Hausen, senior midfielder Lea Egber and senior defender Christa Waterman were represented on the NEC All Tournament Team.  

The Blue Devils opened up scoring with a penalty kick at minute 15 and added a third goal at minute 64 after halftime. Freshman forward Aitana Martinez-Montoya led with three shots and freshman goalkeeper Malene Nielsen made eight saves.

Although the Knights lost the tournament, they ended the season with double-digit wins with Coach Eric Teepe for the third time and finished with at least nine wins.
