Financial aid sent out an email to the FDU community about additional COVID-19 relief funds early Thursday afternoon.
The school has received additional funding from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP). This is to help students who have been impacted by the pandemic by providing them with emergency grants.
“To be considered for this additional aid, you must be enrolled in the 2021-2022 academic year; had a recent change in financial circumstances such as loss of income; and file the FAFSA,” the email said.
To apply for these funds, students must go to WebAdvisor and find the application under financial aid, which is titled “COVID-19 Expense Submission and Certificate Form.” The requirement to receive this is to be enrolled at FDU currently and to submit your application by Nov. 30.
The expenses students can put on the application include tuition and other fees including food, housing costs, course materials, technology, transportation and healthcare.
Though the application is made available for all, funds are limited and submitting an application does not guarantee receiving funds.
