FDU Cross Country Team Goes to NJIT Highlander Invitational

The men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in their second event being the NJIT Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 2. The invitational meet was held in Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey. 

For the 8K men’s event, graduate student Shevan Parks was the best runner for the men’s team, finishing the race at 27:07:71. Parks finished in 33rd place out of 237 runners.

Seton Hall placed first with a total of 36 points. NJIT and Stockton placed second and third.

For the 5K women’s event, Graduate student Jazmyn Lewis was the best runner for the women’s team, finishing at 21:30:52. Lewis finished in 75th place out of 235 runners.

Two runners reached season-best times. Senior Daniella Griffith finished with a time of 23:43:99, and sophomore Chloe Lucas finished with a time of 23:47:68.

Seton Hall placed first with a total of 40 points. Stockton and Felician placed second and third, respectively.  

The next event for the Knights will be the CCSU Mini Meet on Oct. 22 in New Britain, Connecticut.
