The FDU men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in a meet Saturday, Sept. 25 at New Britain, Connecticut. The meet — an 8K race — was a Ted Owen Invitational and the first since 2019. For the men’s meet, Central Connecticut State University won with 21 points and an overall team time 2:11:29. Wagner College and Merrimack College came in second and third place. The FDU men’s team ended the day with a total time of 2:38:16.
The best runner of the team was graduate student Shevan Parks, who finished the race at 29:25:7. He beat his last time at this race by a total of 25 seconds.
The women’s cross country team’s total time for their 5K event was 2:09:48. American International College placed in first with a total time of 1:34:00, then Merrimack and Central Connecticut colleges are second and third place. Graduate student, Jazmyn Lewis shined for the Knights with a time of 23:21:3.
