The Fairleigh Dickinson women’s volleyball team fell to LIU in the conference opener in five sets on Friday, Sept. 24. FDU put up a good fight but lost the fifth set, 18-16. Although the Knights faced defeat, Hannah Schmidt, Miriam Stingl, Madisyn Beirne, and Magdalena Maksimovic reached double-doubles. Alix Christie also contributed with five blocks and 10 kills. The Knights are currently ranked sixth in the Northeast Conference. The Knights will look to bounce back when they face St. Francis Brooklyn at home on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
