On Thursday, Montclair State joined Rutgers University in requiring students to get the vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to campus this fall, nj.com reports.
Montclair will only allow exemptions for medical or religious reasons and students who are enrolled in fully online programs that do not meet in person for any reason, nj.com added.
Earlier this week, New Jersey City University also announced it is requiring the vaccine for all students except for those with medical or religious reasons, nj.com continued.
On April 15, FDU announced that it would require students to get the vaccine before returning to campus in the fall.
The news was received with brings feelings of hope in being able to return to some form of normalcy next semester, not just at FDU, but across the state of New Jersey after a year of pandemic.

There are 2,834 new positive COVID-19 cases in New Jersey, with 238 in Bergen County.
