NJ Senator Charged With Drunk Driving

This morning we will look at an accident involving a New Jersey senator who was charged with driving while under the influence. Let’s dive right in.

Sandra B. Cunningham, deputy majority leader for the N.J. senate, was charged with drunk driving on Thursday, according to Northjersey.com.

Thursday morning, the vehicle Cunningham was driving sideswiped two parked cars in Jersey City, according to police reports, Northjersey.com said.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m, according to Northjersey.com.

Former Gov. Jim McGreevy said he picked up Cunningham around 4 p.m. that day and told Northjersey.com, “ [She was] just shaken up.” 

Cunningham is 70 years old and has been a senator for the 31st district since 2007.
