The Fairleigh Dickinson women’s soccer team had their season opener canceled Monday due to field conditions, FDU Athletics announced.
Kick-off was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. with the Knights set to take on the Seton Hall Pirates at Owen T. Carroll Field in South Orange, NJ.
The field was deemed unplayable due to snowfall throughout the tri-state area.
The Knights will now look ahead to Thursday, Feb. 25 when they travel to Hempstead, N.Y. for a 7 p.m. matchup with Hofstra to open their 2021 campaign.
Their return to the pitch will be their first action since November 10, 2020.
FDU is projected to finish second and get back to their eighth straight NEC tournament, according to the 2021 NEC Preseason Poll.
