LIVE BLOG: FDU Men’s Basketball Against Saint Francis Brooklyn, Game 2

9:14 p.m.

FDU falls to 7-13, 6-8 NEC while the Terriers improve to 7-8,7-7 NEC as the Knights drop their fourth straight game.

FDU shot 16-30 (53.3%) from the field, 5-11 (45.5%) from three, and 7-10 (70%) from the free-throw line while the Terriers shot 14-28 (50%) from the field, 1-4 (25%) from three, and 16-21 (76.2%) from the free-throw line in the second half. 

In total, FDU shot 31-62 (50%) from the field, 12-26 (46.2%) from three, and 13-17 (76.5%) from the free-throw line as the Terriers shot 31-60 (51.7%) from the field, 6-17 (35.3%) from three, and 22-28 (78.6%) from the free-throw line.

Both Preseason All-NEC players for FDU fouled out as Jenkins led the Knights with 27 points as he fouled out with Williams who had 13 points. Munden Jr. had a career high 16 points as Rush added 12 points and Powell added nine points off the bench.

Atson and McLean led the Terriers with 20 points each as Hawkins added 19 points and Higgins added 17 points. Stevanic added nine points as well. 

FDU will now host Mount Saint Mary’s on Saturday, Feb 20 and Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Stratis Arena in the Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ as the Terriers will host Sacred Heart University on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m.  and Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Daniel Lynch ‘38 Gymnasium in Brooklyn Heights, NY.

Sophomore guard Brandon Rush is coming off of a career-high 34 point performance last night in last night’s loss as he is averaging 14.5 PPG with Preseason All-NEC senior guard Jahlil Jenkins averaging 16.3 PPG ans Preseason All-NEC senior forward Elyjah WIlliams averaging 14.8 PPG.

The Terriers leading scorers are graduate student guard/forward Travis Atson with 15.1 PPG, preseason All-NEC senior guard Chauncey Hawkins with 14.8 PPG, graduate student guard Unique McLean with 11.5 PPG, and sophomore guard Rob Higgins with 10.6 PPG.
