After inciting the invasion of the Capitol building and being banned from every possible social media platform last week, President Donald Trump has been impeached for the second time on Jan. 13.
This makes Trump the first President in history to be impeached twice, according to ABC News.
The House of Representatives voted 232-197 just a year after his first impeachment when he was charged for a phone call to Ukraine’s President to find information about Joe Biden, ABC News also reported.
“Today, the members of the House of Representatives exercised the power granted to them under our Constitution and voted to impeach and hold the president accountable,” President-elect Joe Biden said, according to ABC News.
There were 10 Republican representatives who voted against Trump. The chamber is expected to return on Jan. 19 to prepare for Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, ABC News also reported.
“He must go. He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, ABC News continued.
