FDU basketball updates for the new year accompanied with updates on the House of Representatives election for Speaker and Minority Leader, in today’s update.
FDU Athletics announced that there is a positive COVID-19 test in the women’s basketball program, which has prompted a pause all team activities and postponed the first game of the new year, against Wagner on Jan. 7.
It is unknown when the women will resume play. Safety is a key this season as some games were cancelled or postponed because of positive COVID-19 cases in other schools programs.
With the spring semester approaching, spring sports are scheduled to begin in the coming months with the appropriate COVID-19 protocols.

Also, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was re-elected yesterday for another term. She received 216 votes to secure her re-election. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also won reelection, CNN reports.
There were 3,676 new positive COVID-19 cases yesterday, which brings the total cases in New Jersey to 492,042, with 48,565 cases being in Bergen County, according to Google statistics.
