FDU holds on for its fifth win of the season, beating Saint Peter’s 66-60 as the Knights snap the Peacocks’ four- game winning streak to improve to 5-4. The Knights finish off 2020 and head into 2021 in action on Jan. 7 at Staten Island, N.Y., against NEC opponent Wagner.

Thornton threads it to Woods as she lays it in to cut the deficit to 6, 61-55 with 1:42 remaining in the game. The Knights’ call a timeout.
The Peacocks’ drill another 3 to keep the deficit at eight, 61-53 with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game.

Saint Peter’s closes the lead to 11, 56-45 with 7:40 remaining in the game. Thornton has 14 points for the Peacocks’.
The Peacocks’ ended the third quarter on a 7-0 run to close the lead to 13, 53-40. FDU needs to limit the scoring in the final quarter to keep the lead.
Coming out of a media timeout, FDU extends the lead to 53-33. The defense continues to shut down Saint Peters’ offense. Live stats are still down on the FDU Knights’ website as well.
FDU starts out the second half on a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 43-24 as the Knights’ are in control of the game.
Stanley drills the jumper at the buzzer and the Knights go into halftime with a 37-24 lead. The Knights’ defense has been spectacular keeping the Peacocks’ offense from getting going. Live stats are still down on the FDU Knights website.
FDU went on a 9-2 run to extend the lead to 33-23 with 1 minute remaining in the half.
Taylor Cristian drills FDU’s first 3 of the game and extends the lead to 24-19. There is 5:54 remaining in the half.
Stanley lays it up and in and gives FDU the lead 19-18 with 7:53 remaining in the half. Stanley has 7 points.
At the end of the first quarter, FDU is down by two, 17-15. Live stats are down on the FDU Knights website.
FDU ties it up at 15 with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter.
The former Knight, Clark makes the jumper and extends the lead to 15-11 for Saint Peter’s.
Thornton lays it in to extend the Peacocks’ lead to 13-9 with 2:30 remaining in the opening quarter.
Williams draws the foul and lays it in for the three-point play as the Peacocks’ are up 7-4 with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter.
FDU are out to an early 4-2 lead with 7:20 remaining in the first quarter. The Knights defense has looked good so far.

FDU will host Saint Peter’s University at the Rothman Center in Hackensack, New Jersey for the final game of 2020.
FDU is currently 4-4 with a 1-3 record in the NEC to begin the season. Senior forward Madison Stanley leads the Knights with 10.7 PPG, sophomore forward Sierra DeAngelo averaging 9.3 and sophomore forward Maria Roters averaging 9.1 PPG. Junior guard Lindsey Mack is averaging 7.5 PPG off the bench and two-time NEC Rookie-of-the-week freshman guard Chloe Wilson is averaging 6.8 PPG off the bench for the Knights.
Saint Peters is currently 5-3 with a 4-0 record in the MAAC. Graduate student Jenna Clark makes her return to the Rothman Center after playing 4 years for FDU before transferring to Saint Peter’s for her final year of eligibility. Redshirt senior guard Kendrea Williams leads the Peacocks with 13 PPG and redshirt senior guard Taiah Thornton is averaging 11.6 PPG.
