FDU Men’s Basketball Falls to Drexel, Women’s Basketball Wins in Dramatic Fashion

FDU basketball heats up before the holidays; COVID-19 is still running rampant in New Jersey.

The women’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak, defeating Central Connecticut State University 56-55 in the first game of a two-game set Saturday and today.

Sophomore forward Sierra DeAngelo hit the game-winning shot with less than 20 seconds remaining to secure the Knights’ win. She had a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Men’s basketball fell to 1-6 this season with an 85-68 loss to non-conference Drexel yesterday.

Preseason all-NEC guard Jahlil Jenkins finished with a team high 18 points and preseason all-NEC forward Elyjah Williams added 16 in the men’s loss. 

Men’s basketball will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 3 p.m, , while the women will look to sweep the two-game series at CCSU today at 6 p.m. on NEC Front Row.. Tune into our live blog for that game later on today as well!

There are 3.896 new COVID-19 cases in New Jersey as of Friday bringing the state total to 429,000. Bergen County now totals 43,007 COVID-19 cases, as according to Google Statistics
