FDU holds on for the 55-54 NEC win over Central Connecticut State Saturday as the FDU defense holds in the last minute.
DeAngelo led the Knights with 13 points and 11 rebounds with Mack adding nine points. Scott and Stanley had seven points each.
McCamus led the Blue Devils with 14 points with Berube adding 11.
FDU shot 21-62 (33.9%) from the field, 7-20 (35%) from three and 6-8 (75%) from the free-throw line
CCSU shot 22-60 (36.7%) from the field, 6-18 (33.3%) from three and 4-6 (66.7%) from the free-throw line.
FDU gets their first conference win of the season and will be back tomorrow to possibly get the sweep of the round robin at CCSU at 6 p.m. FDU sits 4-3, 1-2 in the NEC, while CCSU sits 1-2, 1-2 in NEC play.

DeAngelo hits the jumper to give FDU the lead back 55-54 with less than 20 second remaining.

CCSU steals the ball from FDU and Jamey Napoleon lays it in to give CCSU the lead 54-53 with 38 seconds remaining in the game.
5:29 p.m.
Mack lays it in to extend the lead to 53-50 as CCSU lays it in on the other end to cut the lead to 53-52.
5:25 p.m.
Timeout on the floor with the Knights holding onto a 51-50 lead with 4:37 left in the contest.
5:20 p.m.
CCSU goes on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 49-48 as DeAngelo hits the jumper to extend the lead to 51-48 with 7:02 remaining in the game.
5:17 p.m.
Mack hits the three to begin the fourth quarter as FDU extends the lead to 47-42 with 9 minutes remaining.
5:15 p.m.
At the end of the third quarter, FDU is up 44-42. Scott, DeAngelo, and Stanley lead with 7 points each. McManus leads the Blue Devils with 9 with Jenkins and Berube with 8 points each for CCSU.
5:12 p.m.
After a two-minute scoring drought for both teams, DeAngelo makes a layup followed up by a jumper by Elise Graham for FDU. The Knights lead 44-40 with a little over two minutes left in the quarter.
5:03 p.m.
Jenkins checks in for the Blue Devils and immediately gets to the basket and lays it in with her left-hand. We are all tied up once again with under five minutes left in the quarter.
5:01 p.m.
Ashley Forker lays it in for Central Connecticut State, but Stanley answers back at the other end. FDU leads 40-36 with over seven minutes remaining in the third quarter.
4:58 p.m.
Scott knocks down a step-back jumper to open up the scoring in the second half. The Knights have taken the lead early on in the second half after trailing by as many as 11 in the game.
4:52 p.m.
The story of the first-half for FDU was the energy they got from its bench. For the Blue Devils, it was forcing the Knights into turnovers and capitalizing on them with points in the fast break.
Both teams shot over 50% from the three-point line in the first-half of play. However, the Blue Devils outshot the Knights from the field, 48.3% to 40.7%.
Emma McCampus leads all scorers for the Blue Devils with nine points. Berube added eight, Toppin had six and Jenkins contributed with two threes of her own.
Mack leads the Knights with seven first half points with Scott, DeAngelo, Wilson and Stanley all adding five of their own. A balanced attack so far for FDU.
4:41 p.m.
Stanley knocks down a jumper to tie the game and that is the end of the first half. FDU is able to overcome an early deficit and at the half, it is all even at 34.
4:39 p.m.
The Knights are shooting 50% from behind the arc as they trail by just two with just over a minute remaining in the first half of play.
4:38 p.m.
Mack drills a three as FDU. She has seven points as the Knights continue to trade baskets with the Blue Devils in a back and forth contest thus far.
4:35 p.m.
Central Connecticut State goes back up 34-27 after a pretty move by Toppin that helps her get to the basket and finish at the rim.
4:34 p.m.
Out of the timeout, each squad trades turnovers. Wilson splashes a three-pointer, but Berube responds at the other end for the Blue Devils. The Knights only trail by five with just over three minutes left in the first half.
4:30 p.m.
Two minute scoring drought for both teams. Media timeout comes with four and a half minutes to go in the first half with FDU still trailing, 30-24.
4:28 p.m.
Chloe Wilson draws the foul. She hits both her free throws as the Knights continue to chip away at the first-half deficit. The Blue Devils still lead by six with 6:30 remaining in the second quarter.
4:23 p.m.
The Blue Devils open up the second quarter scoring with a lay-up by Jamey Napoleon and Forever Toppin hits a three. And just like that, the lead is up to 11 for Central Connecticut State.
Crystian Taylor knocks down a pair of free-throws to cut the FDU deficit to six. At the end of the first quarter, the Knights trail 23-17.
Carly Reynolds nails a long two-point jumper for the Blue Devils. Jenkins bangs in another three, her second of the game already. Central Connecticut State ups their lead up to eight with 45 seconds left in the first quarter.
Mack is providing a spark off the bench for the Knights. She heads to the line and hits a pair.
Lindsey Mack hits a mid-range jumper and Scott nails a long three-pointer for FDU. Dejah Jenkins checks in for the Blue Devils and hits a three-pointer of her own. Central Connecticut State takes a five-point lead with just under two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The women travel today to play Central Connecticut State University for the first of a round-robin series this weekend. FDU is coming off back-to-back losses to St. Francis University (PA) in the NEC round-robin scheme for league competition due to the pandemic.
FDU sit 3-3, 0-2 in the NEC while CCSU sits 1-1, 1-1 in NEC play to begin the season. FDU is 10-14 against CCSU. In their last meeting, the Knights won 63-55 on Feb. 17, 2020.
Madison Stanley leads the Knights with 11.5 PPG with Maria Roters adding 10.7 PPG, Sierra DeAngelo averaging 8.5 PPG and standout freshman and reigning two-time NEC Rookie of the Week Chloe Wilson averaging 6.8 PPG.
Leading scorers for CCSU are Emma McManus with 22 PPG, Ashley Berube with 18.5 PPG, and Ashley Forker with 12.5 PPG.
