Women’s basketball had its third game this season cancelled as the non-conference game at Fordham University this evening was cancelled late in the afternoon due to COVID protocols.

Fordham’s head coach Stephanie Gaitley is entering a 14-day quarantine after being exposed to someone outside the program who tested positive for COVID-19, Fordham reported.

FDU head coach Angelika Szumilo was making a highly anticipated return to Fordham for the first time as head coach. She came to FDU after serving as an assistant at Fordham.

This is the FDU women’s third game cancelled. The opener at Manhattan on Nov. 25 and the Dec. 5 game at Siena were COVID-cancelled.

The Knights (1-1) will return to action on Dec. 11 at home against NJIT in the final non-conference game before the all new round-robin NEC play begins on Dec.15 against Saint Francis University.
