Northeast Conference Commissioner Noreen Morris announced a fall sports ‘Return To Play’ plan. The plan, set to commence during the 2021 spring semester, calls for changes in both regular season and championship elements of the sports.
Each fall sport, aside from cross country, will conduct a modified conference regular season schedule followed by a one-game NEC playoff between the top two seeds to decide the conference’s NCAA automatic qualifier.
The FDU men’s basketball team visits the Providence Friars (2-2) on Saturday looking to get into the win column for the first time this season.
The Knights look to snap a four-game losing streak dating back to last season. They have lost each of their first three games this season by double-digit points.
FDU looks to find something to build on before beginning conference play next week against Central Connecticut.

In other news, an explosion caused a five-alarm fire that engulfed an Englewood building on Bancker Street. It shut down surrounding streets by late Wednesday morning after the Englewood Fire Department received a call at 8:36 a.m. to respond to the scene, according to NJ.com.
There are now just about 353,000 reported cases of COVID-19 in New Jersey with just over 36,787 cases in Bergen County alone.
