Both new and returning undergraduate students on the New Jersey campuses should expect a lowered tuition rate for the 2021 fall semester, according to FDU President Christopher Capuano.
In an email released this afternoon, Capuano announced a reduced fall tuition rate for new full-time undergraduate students to make FDU accessible to more students.
Starting the Fall 2021, the base rate for new students will be $32,000 for both New Jersey campuses — representing a 22-25% decrease from the 2019-2020 tuition base of $41,154 for the Metro campus.
“By reducing tuition and providing greater clarity on the actual cost of an FDU education, our new and lower undergraduate tuition rate will pave the way for more students to attend FDU and benefit from the value of an FDU education — an education that will transform their lives,” Capuano said.
While the above change is for new FDU students, Capuano states that most returning students can expect to pay a tuition amount comparable — or lower — than the offered rate.
Returning students will still benefit from university-based financial aid awards.
“In addition, for returning students, I am pleased to announce that for the 2021-22 academic year, we again will not increase tuition … therefore, FDU’s undergraduate tuition will remain the same for three consecutive years,” Capuano said.
Capuano reiterated discounts the university will offer for the 2020 winter session courses, as well as FDU’s recognition by U.S. News & World Report as #16 in the “Best Value Schools” ranking and Money magazine.
“Without question, the value of an FDU education is becoming more well known, and we aim to increase that value,” Capuano said.
“We are hopeful that this and other recent initiatives we have undertaken will help us achieve our overall goals of improving student retention and success, as well as increasing access and affordability.”
