‘The Equinox’ Honored in College New Jersey Press Association Awards

The Equinox has proudly earned two awards in the annual 2019-2020 New Jersey Press Association Collegiate Journalism Awards.

The awards, announced today, Wednesday, March 18, continue the tradition of the student-run publication’s dedication and recognition of journalism excellence.

The Equinox is second in General Excellence among four-year college newspapers.

Cindy Kim, Maya Page, Justin Rimpi and Anthony Covino earned second-place honors for Layout & Design for their work on “Dancing 2019.”

The group created a two-page spread saluting the men’s basketball team’s Northeast Conference championship and advance into the NCAA March Madness tournament in 2019.

The Equinox earned third place in both categories in the 2018-2019 season.

The banquet honoring all the award-winning New Jersey college newspapers has been canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, but The Equinox staff assures all students that we will continue to cover daily news.

I would like to thank the staff and our academic advisor Professor Krochmal for all of their hard work. The awards are a testament to the hard work and sacrifices they have made this year.
