FDU has chosen a member of the Knights family to lead their volleyball team going forward.

FDU Athletic Director Bradford Hurlbut announced that Kevin Rodgers will be the new FDU women’s volleyball head coach on Monday Feb. 3, 2020.

This is the third hiring in Hurlbut’s year-long tenure at the helm of the Knights athletic program. Hurlbut has also named a new baseball coach and women’s basketball coach in the past year.

Rodgers comes from East Stroudsburg University, where in the previous season he guided the Warriors to the program’s first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship since 1987 and earned PSAC Coach of the Year honors in the process.

Rodgers earned his masters in sports administration from FDU in 2015 while being an assistant coach at the Florham Campus.

“Given the recent success of many of our programs, it is an exciting time to be a Knight,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers served as a top assistant for the Bucknell women’s volleyball team in 2016. He was also the men’s head coach at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and both a head coach and an assistant coach at his alma mater, NJCU.

Rodgers will be the eighth head coach in the FDU Volleyball program’s 41-year history.

Rodgers is now tasked with rebuilding FDU’s volleyball program who was 4-26 overall and 3-13 in conference this season. Rodgers hopes that he can turn around the team next season and compete in the NEC.
