Women’s Basketball Rolls to 66-47 Win Over Central Connecticut State University

Women’s basketball got its fourth conference win of the season, defeating NEC foe Central Connecticut State University, 66-47. The 19-point margin is the team’s biggest this season. 

FDU improves to 7-10 with a 4-2 record in the NEC, with Sacred Heart next Saturday at Fairfield, Conn. Central Connecticut State University falls to 1-17 with a 0-7 record in the NEC. 

The Knights have 7 wins in the last 10 games. 

Sophomore 5-10 guard from Secaucus, Lindsey Mack had her first career double-double and led the Knights with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Maria Roters had 12 points. Sophomore guard Rachael Niles had 11 points and freshman guard Sierra DeAngelo added 10 points. 

Freshman guard Jayde Boyd hit a three with an assist from Niles with 1:27 remaining in the first quarter to give FDU a lead they would keep for the rest of the game. 

The largest lead FDU had was 66-42 with 2 minutes to go. 

FDU’s last game against CCSU was last year, a 66-63 squeaker. 

There are 12 games left in the regular season, before the NEC Tournament starts on March 9.
