Men’s Basketball fell to La Salle 66-58 in their last non-conference game of the season.
The Knights dropped to a 2-9 record on the season, while the Explorers improved to 8-3 on the season.
The Knights largest lead of the first half was 22-14, then La Salle stormed back to take the lead with a 10-0 run to make it 22-24. La Salle went into halftime with a 31-27 lead over the Knights.
The Knights leading scorer was junior guard Jahlil Jenkins who had 21 points and redshirt junior guard Xzavier Malone-Key added 12 points. Junior forward Elyjah Williams and senior forward Kaleb Bishop both had 9 points and 8 rebounds each.
The Explorers leading scorer was sophomore forward Ed Croswell who had 18 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman guard Christian Ray scored 15 points off the bench and senior guard Isiah Deas had 13 points.
The Knights shot 23-61(37.7%) from the field, 6-21 (28.6%) from three, and 6-13 (46.2%) from the free throw line, while The Explorers shot 23-59 (39%) from the field, 2-19 (10.5%) from three, and 18-23 (78.3%) from the free throw line.
The Knights continue to struggle offensively as this is their fourth consecutive loss and this is their last non-conference game before NEC play starts after the new year.
The Knights will return to action on Thursday, January 2 at Saint Francis Brooklyn. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm. The Explorers return to action on Saturday, December 28 at home against Bucknell at 2 pm.
