2017 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey. Here in it’s present location in Teaneck, the University is taking the opportunity to examine its past, evaluate its present, and preview its future.
To celebrate its past, the University and the Alumni Association have called on alumni to submit their favorite memories from their years at FDU. These submissions are currently being collected on a tab marked “75th Anniversary Memories” on myfdu.net. They will be compiled onto a new website, along with a pictorial timeline that will showcase FDU’s vast history. The new website should be released shortly, according to Angelo Carfagna, Vice President of University Communications.
In addition to the new website, a commemorative issue of FDU Magazine will be released in August that looks back on the first 75 years of the University.
The biggest event centered around FDU’s 75th anniversary will be the inauguration of Dr. Christopher Capuano as the University’s ninth president. This event will be held on Sept. 27 at the Florham Campus, and the entire University community will be invited, Carfagna said.
