Equinox Elects New Editors

The Equinox has unanimously voted for its incoming editor-inchief for the 2017-2018 year. Award-winning student journalist Theresa King will be replacing Melanie Perez. King has appointed Elizabeth White to be her managing editor.

Both women have been on The Equinox staff for two years and on the editorial board for a year and a half.

King placed first in the New Jersey Press Foundation’s College Newspaper Contest last year in the Column/ Opinion Writing category for her piece entitled, “Government Calls Womanhood a Luxury.” She also received third place in this year’s contest in the Feature Writing category for, “A Witness to History,” and will be interning at the Asbury Park Press this summer.

White recently returned from Wroxton where she consistently wrote a column for The Equinox. She placed second in the NJPF contest last year in the Column/Opinion Writing category for her piece entitled, “Trump in the Doghouse,” and was later named president of the Communications Honor Society, Lamda Pi Eta.
