I have enjoyed reading The Equinox since I began teaching at FDU fifteen years ago. I have been especially impressed by The Equinox over the past couple years, during which it has tackled important and controversial issues on campus and far beyond it. In the Fall semester alone, The Equinox published reporting on sexual assault, Zika, Brexit, the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, the protest at Standing Rock, and, of course, the presidential campaign. In an era in which newspapers and serious journalism are steadily losing ground to social media, infotainment, and even fake news, The Equinox has become a model of thoughtful and engaged journalism. This gives me hope for the future.
