(TEANECK) – The Knights couldn’t respond in a 0-1 loss to Robert Morris on Thursday at University Stadium. The match was locked in a 0-0 battle for much of the match until Robert Morris opened the scoring in the 75th minute.

Fairleigh Dickinson looked good all game, with a tenacity that lasted much of the match. They attacked the goal all game, making a staggering 20 attempts at the goal. Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Fitzgerald impressed with six saves. The team also baited Robert Morris into three offsides penalties. Ultimately, though, it was not enough.

RMU goalkeeper Makenzie Shearson also impressed that game, making six saves as well. FDU’s tenacity was shown with 20 shots, but only seven shots on goal.

FDU major players were Senior midfielder Connie Lewis, who took four shots and three on goal, and Freshman defender Jackson Bennett, who took four shots, with on of them on goal.

The loss snapped a home winning streak for the women’s soccer team that stretched back to the 2012 season. FDU’s record is currently 6-10-1 after the Knights handed Central Connecticut their first NEC loss on Sunday. The Knights are 4-1-1 in their conference.
